Rohtang is a high mountain pass on eastern Himalayas, around 51 km from Manali. It is very difficult to cross on foot by Himalayan standards because of unpredictable snowstorms and it is open only from May to November. Rohtang pass lies on the watershed between the Chenab and Beas basins. The Chandra River flows from the northern side of this pass, the river Chenab flow towards the west side and the Beas River emerges from underground and flows towards south.

Military vehicles, trucks, large number of tourist vehicles and goods carriers try to navigate the tight roads and rough terrain compounded by snow, causing Traffic jams on the pass. The beauty throughout the route is very beautiful. Paragliding is one of the adventure activity enjoyed at this place. People wear long boots and fur coats as the temperature is below zero degree. To resist the cold and enjoy at this place, people have to wear adequate amount of warm clothes.

Rohtang pass is really a paradise of Himachal Pradesh. It is the most attractive place to be visited in India. At here, a person experiences the beauty of nature, freshness, relaxation, etc. Sights of glaciers and peaks can be easily seen from this place. One should definitely visit this paradise at least once in a life time.
