These are the paid advertisements that appear down the right-hand side of the page, and sometimes across the top of the page. This is an indication that people who search, using this keyword, also have money to spend. If you check again in a few days time and see that the same adverts are showing, it means that the owner of the advert is probably making money.

Even though there are many search-engines Google data can be used as a baseline since we know that Google has the biggest proportion of search-engine traffic. You should expect other traffic sources to have similar targeted visitors for the same keywords.
