Affiliate Marketing Tips: Get Your Video Ranked On Google

If you've decided to add video to your affiliate marketing strategy then you'll be wanting to know how to make the best of that

. Here I'm going to give you the key steps for getting your video ranked on the first page of Google so that you can get it seen by more people.

Step 1. Select your keyword. Ideally you will select a keyword that has under 3 million listings. It's no good trying to go for one of those keywords that everybody is trying to rank for, you'll need to be a bit wily. Try doing a Google search to discover how many listing there are, or you could always use an SEO tool such as Traffic Travis. As with all affiliate marketing - keyword research is the key to success.

Step 2. Use your keyword in your video file name. This is quite often left out by a lot of people as they don't remember to do it. All that needs to be done is to rename the file so that it uses the keywords. You can add dashes between each of the individual words and of course add the file type on the end.

Step 3. Create a YouTube Channel using your keywords. YouTube has a character limit when it comes to the name of channels, but you can use your keywords as part of the channel name. If your keywords are fairly popular, then you might find that the channel name is already taken, so have a look around, do your homework and see what you can come up with that is suitable. Ideally you would be able to use the same relevant account name that you've used for other affiliate marketing content campaign work.

Step 4. Add your video. Your keyword will need to be added to the title, the description and of course in the tags. These are all very important to your strategy. Remember that the internet is all about words and you need to tell Google what you want to rank for to stand a chance.

Step 5. Create anchor text backlinks to your video. If you don't want to do this yourself, you could always hire somebody from a site like Fiverr.com to do it for you. You'll need to ask for a full report on what pages your video is linked to. I usually prefer to do mine myself, as that way I know the quality of the sites being used. However, YouTube is not your own site, so you won't need to be so concerned about what effect the less desirable sites might have on the site. For just $5 - you can save all the time that it will take to do it yourself.

Step 6. Sit back and wait. Within 2 or 3 weeks you can expect to see your video listed in the Google results. Mind you, it has been known for the video to show up within just 24 hours. Usually the back links will need to be indexed by Google first, and this can take some time for the spiders to go around the web, find them and index them.

If after a few weeks you cannot see your video ranking, then you can always go and take another service from Fiverr.com. Try social bookmarking as part of your affiliate marketing campaign.
