After Conversation Starters - What Do I Do?
This is it! You looked at, and memorized, some great conversation starters
, some super pick up lines, and read articles on how to flirt.
Man, you are ready!
The funny pick up line was something like:
"Have you every cried because you were so happy?"
Or how about, "Do you ever sing in the shower?"
You could really make points by saying something like, "Can Crop Circles be square?"
Boy, now that you have dazzled her with these witty remarks-- do you stand there waiting for her to admire your cleverness? Or maybe just ignore that awkward silence that follows-- each one waiting for the other to say something?
OK-- let's take it from the top. Do these lines ever work? Sure, they do - if it is your intent to have a funny beginning (Nothing wrong with that), but there must be more to a conversation than just an opening remark.
Look at yourself-- and ask if you are confident enough with your conversing skills to carry on a witty conversation-- after that great beginning. You know, this is not meant to be a silly offensive question. The facts are most people have a real lack of social skills. That can probably be attributed, at least in part, to the twitters, text messaging, face book, etc
. Now if you really want to stand out-- you must acquire good solid conversational skills. While those clever opening funny pick up lines might get a few laughs, if you are a one-trick pony-- and have nothing left-- you will be pretty embarrassed.
To converse well, in a witty and charming way-- one must acquire some skills. There are certain ways to choose the right words, in the right combination, and in such a way that can and will make you really stand out. And, that is what you want, for those skills will pay you huge dividends in almost any arena:
Pick up women
Make a good impression on your banker when you are going for a loan
Contract negotiations
Absolutely any personal contact, regardless of the objective
For example, here are a few tips on flirting, regarding just the one aspect of eye contact:
Keep eye contact for no more than 5-6 seconds; any longer is kind of creepy
You need to lock eyes three times before the person (the recipient of your attention) catches on-- that you are flirting with her.
