Agra welcomes Rahul Gandhi whole heartedly

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi reached the last destination of his second leg of campaigning--- Agratoday in the evening. Enthusiastic crowds, who were waiting for him since afternoon, received him with petal showers and slogans. Wherever Rahul Gandhi went, atmosphere rendered with slogans like Rahul Gandhi Zindabad and Rahul Tum Sangharsh Karo, Hum Tumhare Saath Hain.
Mr Gandhi started his Jan Samparka in Agra from Idgaah, moving ahead to Mamner Chowk, Hari Parvat, Sanjay Palace, Bhagwan Talkies to Jivni Mandi. Before leaving for New Delhi from Agra, he also met several party workers and Congress candidates at Mayur Hotel, where they discussed the strategy for the upcoming polls.
Before reaching Agra, he went to Bidhuna. Interacting with the people of Bidhuna, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi once again came down heavily on the political parties who have been at the helms of affair in Uttar Pradesh for the last 15 years.
"Consecutive governments in Uttar Pradesh for the last 15-years have looted the state. None of them ever bothered to work for the development of the states. Rather than oiling the wheels of development of the state, they deliberately pushed the state backward", said Mr Gandhi.
"If we want to change this, only one power can do it, and that is the power of the youth. I want the young people to come ahead and shoulder the responsibility. I will be with them and will work in tandem with them for reviving the lost glory of the state", he added.
"Look at the state of affairs in UP, its pathetic, and still the state government is doing nothing", he further added.
Earlier in the morning he interacted with media persons in Kanpur where he said that he was not bothered about the success or failure of his road shows, rather he was interested in the unification of Uttar Pradesh, which has been divided on the lines of caste and religion by some divisive forces.
"I am not really worried about the success or failure of my road shows. I am here to bridge the divide. My work is to unify the people; a good road show or a bad road show, it hardly matters to me. It's an ongoing process, which has begun now." "I believe that a change can be brought in UP only with a new mindset," was what Rahul Gandhi said during the media interaction.
"I am not into politics for any position. I am here to get the youngsters into positions; there is a need for a change in the system, which the youngsters can do easily. Our political system also needs a change and this can only happen when the youngsters come into the mainstream. UP can be changed only by the new mindset and it's a high time for a change", he added.
Defending his stand on the Babri Masjid and Narshimha Rao, he said that he only criticized him on one point and that doesn't mean that whatever Narshimha Rao did during his life was wrong.
"The position of our party in Uttar Pradesh went down because at one point of time, we didn't allow people to come to our fold. But now we have opened the door of our party for the youth. Not only the Congress party, all other political parties should open their doors for the youth," he said.
Replying to a question on reservations, he said, "I am open for all kind of discussion. I invite the youth, both who are for and against it, for discussion on the issue. I want the youth to come forward for all kind of solutions. I appreciate the initiative of the IIT students and I want them to come to Delhi and have a discussion. I am ready to listen to all ideas which a youngster have."
Replying to a question on the CD released by BJP, he said, "I am not going to react on what the BJP or the SP is doing. I can't stop them from doing anything, I have to do my own work and am doing that."
"I am not taking these elections as an event, it's no semi-final or final for me. It's a long and ongoing process," he added.
Mr Gandhi once again reiterated his belief in secularism and said, "See I have one major flaw, I can't see. I can't differentiate between two Indians, all are one for me. I don't believe in these things".
Speaking on not having alliance with any political party in UP elections he said, "The alliance could not work out because there was some differences on the number of seats to be shared".
