rights: Indiatimes 58888, the mobile division of India's leading internet and mobile content service provider Times Internet Limited, has bagged the exclusive mobile rights for the ICC World Cup. The rights, acquired from Reliance Communications Limited, include mobile content services like SMS, voice and video alerts, live audio commentary, mobile content downloads besides 2G and 3G services. Other services to be offered include World Cup theme as ring back tone, post-match analysis and mobile marketing advertisements.

ESPN Star Sports, which holds the broadcasting rights for the mega event in India, said it has so far roped in three DTH providers. We are currently in talks with the remaining DTH players," an ESPN STAR Sports spokesperson said.

To watch the matches in HD mode, one needs an HD-compliant TV, an HD set top box (which is different from normal ones) besides wires specially made for the purpose. Earlier, the 2010FIFA World Cup in South Africa and theDelhiCommonwealth Games were shown on HD platforms.
