The City Hall, or the Ayuntamiento, is one of the most beautiful and outstanding examples of Baroque architecture in Alicante. The construction of the City Hall started at the end of the 17th century, but it was not finished until 1780. Its faade is one of the pieces that attracts the most attention from tourists, as it is flanked by two imposing towers which have tiled domes.

The City Hall has a beautiful central doorway, but if you follow the outstanding twisting columns, you will also find a second door that leads you to Santisima Faz Square. While you are here, you should give some of your attention to the square as it is famous for its unique sculptures. The interior of the City Hall is truly impressive. It has a superb triptych created by Gaston Castello which depicts the construction of the entire City Hall. When you visit the interior of the City Hall, make sure that you also visit the beautiful Blue Room. It is truly unique!
