The town of Great Falls, Montana is committed to creating a community spirit that is unmatched anywhere else in the nation. Calling to memory the days of block parties and street festivals, the downtown area will be closed off every Thursday during the summer to present Alive @ 5, where residents and visitors alike can enjoy an evening of live music, great food, street dancing, and time with friends and family. There will be a different band each week, and a different historic building is spotlighted during every celebration.

The bands that play for Alive @ 5 are pretty amazing. We've already had the Sliptones and also Handsome Jim here in Great Falls, and next we're looking forward to the 49th Street Blues Project. On July 1st, you can enjoy Voodoo Cadillac. Later in the summer, Great Falls will host Barbed Wire, Hound Dog Rockin' Blues, The Juke Box Band, The Red Elvises, Hired Guns, Skye Cat, and Steve Keller Band. They'll be playing some of your all-time favorites, as well as brand new stuff that you will surely come to love. Some of these bands are internationally known, so it's really exciting to see them celebrating with our hometown!

This is something that you can enjoy with your whole family! In addition to the great music and beverages, there are plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy. There will be games and crafts and play equipment. It's really the most fun, though, when you get together with your friends and family to just dance the night away. You can also join in on this year's newest addition: the air guitar competition.

If you survive the fun of the Thursday Alive @ 5 celebrations, then you can join in on the Friday Art Walk, which takes place on the first Friday of every month. All of the art galleries in Great Falls open their doors and welcome the community to take a look around. You can meet several local artists and musicians, all while enjoying some of the best art available and listening to some great music. There is food and drink available in the locally owned Great Falls restaurants.
