Simply put, water that is alkaline has an alkali, which is a

substance that dissolves in water, that neutralizes acids and that

joins with acidic compounds to make salts. Alkaline water is very

good for people. For one thing, it has been scientifically

demonstrated to help fight cancer. When you drink alkaline water, it

allows more oxygen atoms to attach themselves to cancer cells, and

these oxygen atoms will then kill these cancer cells or at least help

to slow their growth and reproduction. Also, consuming alkaline water

helps you avoid the effects of acid buildup. You see, one of the

body's main regulatory functions is to maintain a neutral pH level,

which means seven on the pH scale (the scale goes up to fourteen).

And since alkalis register as above seven on the pH scale, drinking

alkaline water helps bring our bodies up to a pH of seven. Without

consuming such alkalis, however, the body will get up to seven by

depositing acid waste all over the place. And as we grow older, a

buildup of acid waste can cause all kinds of problems, many of them

the ones we commonly associate with growing older. That is, they

cause us to gain weight and can raise our blood pressure levels, and

they can also weaken our bones.

An alkaline water filtration system at home can turn all the tap

water you drink into alkaline water, and thus help you to fight off

cancer and stave off aging.
