Amitriptyline also cause problems to heart and these are some serious side effects that take place with quite frequency and that is the exacerbation of a cardiac rhythm interruption. When you finally start taking Amitriptyline , make sure that you avoid taking it with some other medications. For instance, Tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline are not recommended to be used with monoamine oxidase inhibitors such as Deprenyl (Anipryl), it is considered as unsafe for use. Also, if you take methimazole with the continouse use of Amitriptyline, there are chances that you may develop white blood cells. You need to avoid the use of Cimetadine (Tagamet) because that can interfere the effect of Amitriptyline and you need to make yourself clear that n order to get positive results from Amitriptyline, you should use it without any other drugs with anticholinergic effects as it could lead to serious side effects. In order to avoid the side effects, make sure you take the medication with the consultation of a well qualified doctor because they can guide you the best way to use it to avoid any side effects and complications.
