Almost Half Of Brits To Holiday In The Uk This Year And Cite Hassle Of Air Travel As Main Reason

It has been reported that almost half (48%) of Brits are considering a main holiday

in the UK this year, this would suggest that the staycation phenomenon as it has been called is certainly not a one-off.

The study showed that more than three quarters (79%) of those who took their main holiday in the UK last year are again thinking about returning in 2012, and when you compare it with figures published in 2009 as being 66% this is certainly a marked increase.

The increasing hassle of air travel was cited by a huge percent of people as a reason to holiday at home. Initially of course holidaymakers choose a staycation for economic reasons, but the UK tourism industry is clapping their hands with expectations that people plan to return to UK holidays simply because of quality of service and enjoyable locations.

Reasons for the about turn to holiday in the UK were said to be better hotel accommodation, better restaurants and self catering facilities, and more importantly it has been suggested that the UK is more customer focused, delivering better service, and good locations with better scenery are all top proprieties.

The great British public is eager to support UK tourism businesses, and feel that the UKs appeal has increased; people are also prepared to book early in order to secure their preferred holiday.

The UK holiday revival comes about with positive experiences and improved service and knocks back travel abroad, this is great for the UK and surely can be sustained well into the future, and furthermore this can only be achieved if holiday parks, accommodation and facilities meet holiday-makers expectations.
