America Guide

America is a truly massive country, not only in its political

, military and economic worldwide clout, but also in its physical size. It consists of 50 States and just over 300 million people. It is also one of the most multicultural and ethnically diverse nations, with many immigrants moving to the country from hundreds of different countries.

In terms of climate, there really is no true average as, owing to the size of America, it experiences almost the full range. For example, Hawaii has a warm to hot climate, whereby Alaska is mostly below freezing. In cities like New York, summers are quite warm and in winter it will snow.

Owing to its sheer size and diversity, it is not possible to mention all the places to visit in America, but these are just a few of the highlights.

A visit to New York is a must. It is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world and skyscrapers abound, making you feel really small. Catch a yellow cab and cruise around the streets. Go to the Empire State Building, walk through Central Park and take a cruise around the Statue of Liberty. Washington is also worth a quick stop, if only just to see the Whitehouse. Las Vegas, Americas playground, is where the parties never stop. Go to some of the famous hotels/casinos like the Flamingo, the Winn, Hard Rock and Bellagio. For some sun and fun go to Miami and stroll along the beach admiring the summer bodies. Orlando is where youll find Universal Studios, which has attractions that will blow you away. From here, it really depends on how much time and budget you have left. A great idea is to hire a car, preferably a convertible, and drive from Fort Lauderdale (Miami) to New York. This will give you a good lay of the land, without taking too long and hopefully you will also be able to experience and see some of the smaller towns along the road that help make America what it is.
