Many people believe the fight between Amir Khan and Paul McCloskey could turn into a difficult night for Khan. Yes Khan is the superior fighter; he is quicker, stronger and is trained by probably the best trainer in the world. Also with his impressive win over Marcos Miadana last late last year you could be made to think this upcoming fight is a no contest fight.
Yet there are still people out there who do believe McCloskey can pull of a famous win in Manchester. McCloskey is undefeated in 22 fights and you do not get average fighter's coming up with that record. There is no doubt this is McCloskey's biggest fight of his career and he will do anything to cause an upset come April 16th.He has been training in his backyard in Northern Ireland with his long time trainer John Breen. On the other hand Khan has been everywhere, America, The Philippines and now returned to Manchester. It seems he may be underestimating his opponent and with rumors that he is in talks with Timothy Bradley for a showdown in late summer, Khan doesn't seem one hundred per cent focused on this upcoming fight.
The recent big news to come out of this fight is that Sky will not be showing the fight on Saturday 16th April. It was first agreed that the fight would be shown on pay per view but with Sky not happy especially with the undercard they moved the fight off pay per view to regular Sky. This didn't go down well with Khan's team as he would have had to take a major pay cut. Both parties held talks but an agreement couldn't be reached so now it has been confirmed that the fight will be shown on Primetime TV. Relativity unknown channel which has shown many of Carl Froch's bouts. There's no doubt the City of Manchester will benefit from this great sporting weekend. From shops to pubs and no doubt the manchester escorts will be extremely busy come April 16th.
Even though Amir Khan is expected to easily beat McCloskey on Saturday night it will be an intriguing fight to watch and one that Khan should take very seriously if he wants to win in impressive style.
