For decades now, Amsterdam has been famous for its Red Light District and its liberal sex industry which has been attracting thousands of tourists each year to the city to get a glimpse of this unique district.The Red Light District of Amsterdam is not sleazy, though it might sound like that. The district is scattered with penis shaped fountains in the street and prostitutes openly seducing customers. The narrow streets of the district are filled with couples rather than single men who find this experience quite fascinating.
It might seem to be quite shocking to those who are not used to such openness but it is a great experience nevertheless. The district has long since been a major tourist market and is lined with plenty of shops, pubs and cafes.

On most days and nights the district is packed with crowds and in some streets walking by can even be a little difficult due to the large crowds of tourists. However, the Red Light District is not just all about prostitutes and porn shops though it is the main backbone of the area. There are many pubs, bars, cafes and shops in the district. The district has become a landmark in the city, not just because of it is a famous tourist spot but also because it depicts the freedom of prostitutes in the city and is an important part of the city.
