An Application Of Model Making

For some people, model making may just be a hobby to while away time

. There are some people, however, who see model making as an important part of their work. Some of these people would include architects who are trying to build a certain structure or are planning out how an area would look like.

Model making in the field of architecture can come in three areas creation of planning models, creation of test and development models, and creation of sales models. Oftentimes, models for exhibition purposes also take place. So how do architects create models?

Initial models can come in block forms bearing very little details. Oftentimes, only card box or styrene is used when creating the models. A more detailed model is then made from the first one using materials such as laser cut styrene as well as acrylic plastic. This time, the model would already bear windows, elevation details, and, sometimes, some of the interiors depending on the size of the model.
