An Introduction To Darts
Darts has been a popular sport among many people
. Many social venues such as bars and pool parlors have this timeless classic. Darts began in medieval England and was a form of art used to train archers. The game was carried into public venue by soldiers and later developed into the modern day board game we have come to know and love. Dart Boards are available in many stores. Dart boards come in many sizes and forms. Therefore when purchasing a dart board it is important to give it a test run. Darts also come in different models suited for a specific purpose. As with any sport practice makes perfect. Therefore if you are planning on taking on competitions practicing and purchasing on your own board is recommended.
Darts come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The commonly used tungsten darts have a similar weight to the bronze darts used it the past. However they are smaller in size. The kind of grip you use for your darts can also affect your game. This factor coupled with technique can make your game a smooth win. Grips such as the knurled and edge grips are popular among the darts community. Electronic dart boards are the latest in the game. These boards take away the need for a score keeper and speed up the process of the game. The darts used on an electric board are built out of plastic and can be replaced. Bristle dart boards are also still available.
There are many games that can be played on a dart board, but darts generally refers to a game whereby the player throws three darts per visit to the board with the goal of reducing a fixed score, commonly 501 or 301, to zero, with the final dart landing in a double segment. A game of darts is generally contested between two players, or two teams, who take turns in throwing up to three darts.
A throw that reduces a player's score below zero, to exactly one, or to zero but not ending with a double results in the player's score being reset and their turn forfeited. A darts match is played over a fixed number of games, known as legs. A match may be divided into sets, with each set being contested as over a fixed number of legs. The game has strategy as well as just scoring points. You have to balance your scoring with stopping your opponent from scoring, which is why the game is so compelling and such a great favorite.
