An Opt-in list that works - in 4 simple ways

From paper and pen to computers and keyboard, the internet has become a huge part of the human race since evolution of mankind. In recent years, online marketing has found its way to the homes of many. As

more and more internet business are being set up, more people are finding the need to develop essential marketing skills and knowledge in this medium. Marketing strategies are being discovered to cope with

the changing face of business in the business world!

Though there are countless marketing tips and strategies developed, most are opting for a new form of business that is being born in a more cost free way. One of this methods also known as the permission

marketing is the opt-in email marketing.

This method works when you send your marketing materials to potential customers via email. It can be sent using newsletters, catalogs or promotional mailings. The more e-mails you send to your customers, the

more chances there are to hit your target. In order to achieve this, you will need to entice your potential customer to subscribe to your opt-in marketing list by offering free perks.

With each sign up through the opt-in marketing list, you get your targeted customers. This will form a good list as they would have shown sufficient interest in what your website has to offer when they

signed up using your opt-in form.

Many sources and articles suggest ways to do up a good opt-in list, however many of them beat around the bush and only lead to a confusion of all the methods discussed.

Herein lies four crucial steps to form a good opt-in list:

1) Be short, sharp and sweet. Tell your potential customer what your business is all about, in as few words as possible. Give your potential customer a taste of what your business has to offer

them, and be sure to have a good web form in your site that immediately follows the end of your content.

Tip: A good web form for subscribing to an opt-in list should have a place where they could input their names and email addresses. You could write a little about what your potential customers will see and

also let them know that they will get updates to the site. While the web form saves and sends you the data input, your list grows along.

2) Your homepage should make a very good first impression. It should be user friendly, concise and have well written context and descriptions. Pick up some good programming skills and make the homepage

beautiful but do not make it too complicated.

Tip: Remember that not everyone of your customers have high speed internet, so keep your megabyte of your homepage small so it loads faster. Webpages that take too long make potential customers frustrated,

causing you to lose them quickly. Have borders on your homepage simply, yet contain sophisticated information.

3) Ensure that you keep good your word. If you promise your customer a product, give it to them ten times better than what you have. Provide customer support with quick response. A satisfied customer always

returns and bring back more customers along. Word of mouth and recommendations from customers rake in far more business than placing countless expensive advertisements.

4) Have a good reputation. Always only give your customers what they want. Never spam your customers. Spamming your customers will leave them agitated, and they will probably unsubscribe from your list. A

good reputation will also drive more traffic and also strengthen the customer's loyalty.
