The reason why it has become so difficult to diet is because many people are not even cooking their own meals

. It is one of the facts that we have come to accept; when you work as hard as you do, you cannot have all your meals at home. That statement is mostly true, because it is harder to have homemade meals when you have to work 8 hours (sometimes more) a day, but it is not impossible.

When you make your own meals you can control what ingredients go into your food and therefore you are more likely to have healthy food. You may think that making healthier anti aging meals is difficult, but the fact is that it is much easier than you may think. All you need to do is follow three simple rules and you will begin to notice the difference rather quickly.

Your Food Is Art

You should not misunderstand that statement and try to make 5 star restaurant foods unless you are a Michelin Star Chef. What it means when you read that your food is art is that you should make it colorful. It is not about getting the food to look pretty, but rather about having all the nutrition you can in a single meal. Getting greens, yellows, reds, and even orange in your plate is a good way to get more nutrients into you. The more nutrients you have, the more energy you will get. That energy can be used to move around and lead a much healthier lifestyle. Most of the colors that you get will come from vegetables and that means that you can use less meats and carbohydrates. You still need those things, but with a more balanced diet you are bound to feel a lot better.


Change Your Metabolism

This is one of the best things that you will hear when you are in a diet: You are allowed to have 4-5 meals a day instead of 2 or 3. The change will allow you to speed up your metabolism and therefore lose weight faster. Having four to five meals a day does not mean that you will be having more food; it means that you will be controlling portion size to distribute the food that you are eating into 2 more meals per day. What happens then is that your body will be using the food that you get as fuel for your activities as opposed to storing fat in your body.

The meal plan which increases your metabolism also makes you feel fuller and therefore less likely to eat more than you need in any given meal. The trick is to eat the amount of food that you need and not necessarily all that is on the plate.


Eat Fresh Foods

It can be very tempting to go for prepared foods or canned foods when making meals. They are ready for you to eat for the most part, and all you have to do is heat it up. Have you ever slowed down and looked at the ingredients on the back of the can? You will find preservatives, sugars, and all the sodium you would need in a day. You are getting surprise ingredients every time you use canned food. While some could be kept for the times when you cannot cook a full meal, you are much better off cooking with fresh ingredients. Not only will the meals be healthier, but they will also taste a lot better and give you more nutrition. Follow these tips to make healthy meals and you will begin noticing the difference in no time at all.
