Cure Panic attacks - Treatment For AnxietyNumerous drugs are used to treat the symptoms of anxiety these include the anti-anxiety medications like the benzodiazepines, beta-blockers, and antidepressants. All these medications do their jobs quite well but do not call them a cure for anxiety. What they do is ease the symptoms the occur with anxiety. You still need to deal with the real reason for the anxiety occurring in the first place. You don't want to quit taking the medications only to see you anxiety symptoms come back.
Before starting taking any of these medications look into their side effects. Many of them have severe side effects that can be harmful to you. They can also be addictive physically to where you have a hard time quitting from them even if you want to. Just know that these medications are a lot of help in coping with anxiety but they may not be for just everyone.
The most common of the anti-anxiety drugs that are used today are the benzodiazepines such as Klonopin, Xanax, Ativan, and Valium. These types of drugs usually bring relief quickly. This makes them good not only for mild anxiety but even for panic attacks. But they can also have their downside.
Before you start using these medications, you need to be made aware of the way they work. These drugs work by slowing down the activity in your brain. Knowing that, it's understandable that they have side effects. Awareness of these side effects are important to know before you start using them for your anxiety.
Higher dosages create stronger side effects. Sleepiness, sensations of walking in a fog, lack of coordination, etc are just a few of the many side effects you might feel if you are taking these drugs. Everyday life can become hard to do if you are constantly feeling hungover.
Benzodiazepines are known to breakdown in your body very slowly. Due to this happening you may eventually become heavily medicated. You may appear drunk or extremely sedated. Again we will go over all the different side effects of taking these drugs.
The most common side effects from benzodizephines are impaired judgement, dizziness, impaired thinking, loss of memory, slurred speech, drowsiness, clumsiness, depression, feeling disoriented, and blurry vision. These are the reasons it's important to take these drugs cautiously, and to adhere to the directions on dosage to the tee.
Remember to always be sure that you double check that there are no cross reactions with other drugs before taking it. Serious side effects from mixing two of the wrong drugs can be avoided when you proceed with caution. The end result could make the drugs you are taking less effective, or you can even having a hard time breathing. If you feel drowsy when you take any medication, never drive while taking it. You could end up in a bad car accident, hurting yourself or someone else.
Never forget that medication alone will not cure you, you must follow through with any other needed therapies for ridding your life of anxiety.
