They will also provide you with a specified number of space where you can upload your files. If you are going to have a lot of videos and pictures you will need a lot of storage space. Also, you need to make sure they will provide you with all the bandwidth you need. No one wants to see the dreaded "bandwidth exceeded error."

Shared hosting is great for beginners and there is no need to spend your hard earned money on dedicated or vps right off the bat. In fact, you can always upgrade if you feel that you are growing quickly. Please do just make sure you take the time to research your hosting provider prior to doing business with them.
