Apeejay school does full justice to the city of Kolkatta which has witnessed many luminaries from various fields of science, arts, philosophy etc

. Apeejay School, Park street laid its foundation with 50 children and 5 teachers in the year 1975 and in 5 years shifted to its current building which now boasts of more than 2000 happy students. The Salt lake branch was started in the year 1998 amidst lush green lawns which gave students a feeling of tranquility and promoted them to do better in their studies.

The motto of Apeejay School is- "Soaring High", which is fitting since every student as well as staff believes whole heartedly that they can achieve great success if they move onwards with discipline and determination. The aim of the schools is to promote a holistic approach towards learning. Emphasis is placed on the concept of multiple intelligence as opposed to cognitive learning. In simple words, at Apeejay School you wont find students pursuing only academic goals. Equal importance is given to arts, creative, humanities etc. This is proved by the fact that the school has various clubs for Literary & Drama, Heritage, Science, Mathematics, Social Service, Arts and Crafts, Computer, Music, Dance, Nature, Quiz and Karate. The school has separate laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Bio-technology, Fashion Studies, Geography, Arts, Psychology, Web Multimedia, Computer Science & Mathematics and are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The school library is used not just for reading and lending books but also to promote socio-cultural aesthetic skills. The library organizes activities, training programme and workshops for the slum children at regular intervals.

The other facilities provided at the school are the school infirmary which deals with minor emergencies. Since kids will be kids the infirmary is well stocked with first aid and essential medicines. Also the canteen here promotes healthy eating. Along with the usual chaat and pastries on the menu, one will also find a list of soups and salads and fruit juices. For the safety of the school kids it is compulsory for all students from classes LKG to VIII to travel by the school transport system. Only those students who are dropped by their own private cars are exempt from this rule. The school is truly modern and ahead of its time and is a great boon to people of Kolkata.
