You may have heard about Monavie scams on the internet

. You might have even wondered what this was all about and who is behind this campaign. Perhaps you were researching the company to see if you wanted to become a distributor. Perhaps you were just interested in buying some of their products.

The first thing you'll want to know is that Monavie is not the only target in this campaign. The second thing you'll need to know, if you don't already, is that keywords work as 'meta-tags' on the internet, and sometimes those seeking to get additional exposure for their own business will use the names of other businesses simply to increase their search engine rankings and capture what they believe is a targeted audience.

On the internet, as in a mall, you are browsing around and are a potential buyer. The internet is just like a huge mall and there are shop-keepers who want you to buy from them. They'll hang out signs and put deals out there to entice you to come on in and browse some more. On the internet shop-keepers do this by using keywords and key phrases to enhance their search engine optimization (SEO). They may use words related to their business or completely unrelated to their business in the hopes of finding new visitors to their sites. There is nothing wrong with this practice, in fact, it's part of the core component of how internet marketing is done.

But there are marketeers who will go further and try to use names of company's or individual's in their copy writing. They may make outrageous claims or try to entice people to come on over to their site by posting absurd claims or tabloid styled stories. It happens on the internet all of the time. When it comes to some of the claims lately that there are 'scams' associated with well respected companies in the MLM industry, a seasoned internet marketer can easily see that one of the shop-keepers has gone a little too far in trying to entice people to come on in and browse around.

Almost since its inception, the internet has suffered the same problems that were once related to direct mail or telemarketing. If you think about it logically, you'd have to notice that a lot of the junk mail and junk calls that you used to receive aren't coming in anymore.

The internet is free. It has no editor. In most respect we like that because it enables us to freely publish and develop new businesses and live a better life. But a free internet is subject to change. Many people have been lobbying to have the internet censored. Some people think it would be a good idea to do away with net neutrality and have an internet police force who would decide what is correct and what is not correct. Most people prefer the idea of remaining free when it comes to the internet. But even large companies are lobbying to gain control of what gets published and what doesn't.

But today, people claiming that there are Monavie scams may not only be those folks who would be considered disgruntled by their own failure, they could be internet marketeers who figured out how to use a keyword to their advantage. They think they're clever. But we should all be concerned about this practice because nothing prevents them from using our good name next.
