Are Rich People Better Than Poor People? A Law Of Attraction Perspective

I once heard a motivational speaker (who shall remain nameless) claim that poor people were

, on average, morally inferior to wealthy people. Like almost everyone else in the audience that night, I was stunned and a little disgusted at the callousness of this statement. But as the speaker explained his position, it became clear to me that whether I liked it or not, there was at least some truth to his point of view.

He pointed out that people who attain wealth, on average, contribute more to the world than people who do not attain wealth. He was also quick to admit that this was not always the case -- but that it was "generally" the case. And because wealthy people contributed more to society, in his view they were morally superior to poor people.

Now don't get me wrong: I don't approve of the way the speaker made his point, or the negative and judgmental tone he used. But it certainly did wake up a lot of us in the audience that night, and it got me thinking seriously about the concept of giving and contributing to society.

If we're honest, most of us tend to think people who contribute more to the world are generally "better" people -- as long as they are contributing something positive, of course.

Living in abundance is about both receiving AND giving. Those who receive more are most often those who give more. Sometimes when people pursue wealth they forget his basic truth -- they focus so intensely on the "getting" that they completely ignore the "giving" aspect of abundance. Both are necessary. If you want to have a successful business, for example, you MUST give a product or service of value to people -- something that improves the quality of people's lives in some way.

To live an abundant life you have got to give. That's all there is to it. True, there are some people who obtain "financial wealth" without doing very much giving. But those people tend to have ONLY financial wealth, and more often than not, they are desperately poor in other areas of their life.

I know I've said it many times, but living in abundance is about more than financial wealth. It's about living a wealthy life, and attracting wealth in every area of your life, from relationships and family life, to your bank account, self esteem and health. A truly wealthy person should be abundant and prosperous in ALL of these areas and more.

When you are truly "in the flow" of nature, you will be both a giver and a receiver. And frankly, nothing gives off a wealthy mindset like giving freely from your heart. This sends out all the right signals; it says in effect, "I am so confident in my abundance that can share it freely with others." That is EXACTLY the type of wealthy mindset you want to develop if you seek to live a truly wealthy, abundant life.

So, even though I would not suggest that poor people are somehow less moral than others, I must admit that wealthy people do, on average, contribute more to the world. They are more in the flow of nature, because they are partaking in the delicate balance between give-and-take which exists in both human affairs and the natural world.

If you feel that you're not "getting" enough in life, ask yourself: "how can I give more? How can I contribute more?" And remember, it's not all about giving money or working your fingers to the bone. There are many, many ways to give. It could be as simple as being there emotionally for someone who needs you, or smiling at someone who's having a bad day. A mind focused on giving is open to receiving.
