If you haven't spotted the latest t-shirt trend then you might not be in a relationship

. Right now couples all over are wearing matching t-shirts and outfits. Why is this happening? It has gained prominence with newlyweds as they normally wear bride and groom t-shirts on their honeymoon. Other couples that aren't married decided to follow the trend to show their commitment level to each other and bond. The following are four reasons that have spun the couple t-shirt mania.

Gag gifts

Normally this is reserved for wedding showers. This is normally the bride and groom t-shirt. But sometimes children and friends will provide matching t-shirts to those whom they like whether they will wear them or not. It might also be used as a costume for parties on Halloween, etc.

Romantic

Many couples see this as a romantic idea. The fact that they can share their interests in clothing for everyone to see forges their bond. It is pretty hard not to notice that two people are together when they are wearing the same outfit or t-shirt. Usually the female is into matching fashion sense more than the guy but might feel pressured into wearing it since he doesn't want to upset her.

Inexpensive

You can buy a t-shirt for less than twenty bucks each. In many cases you could find something for less than that. It is the easiest way to look alike and not hurt the wallet or purse at the same time. One simply has to make sure that it is something that both persons will like and they will fit. There are many designers now that have looked at this market segment and created clothing just for couples.

Entertaining

It is simply entertaining and fun to dress alike. When you were a kid if you had siblings you might have dressed alike because you mom thought it was cute. You probably hated it. You wanted to be seen as an individual or unique person. Now that you are an adult in a committed relationship you want to be seen as a couple. A couple t-shirt will convey that message to others while you are wearing it.

Many people can't see the reason behind dressing alike. They may see it as strange or even dumb. Many guys have sworn that you won't catch them in a matching outfit. They are the very persons that end up doing it. Not that their opinions have changed but simply because they are now in a relationship that matters to them. They care about what the other persons thinks and feels and is not concerned about the opinions of others. They have found someone that they can share ideals and themselves with. You see this occur with major celebrities. At the beginning of the relationship they will have their own unique sense of self. After some time has passed they normally take the characteristic of each other to create a fashion identity for the both of them. You may notice the same thing happening to you.
