What Are the Side Effects?

Additionally, if you notice any of the following problems occurring in the hours to weeks after having the injections, report them to your doctor. Those problems include vision changes, trouble speaking, trouble swallowing, muscle weakness throughout the body, difficulty breathing, or loss of bladder control.

Some individuals also experience eye pain, bruising or bleeding near the eye, chest pain, flu-like symptoms, and seizures or blistering. These are very uncommon to occur and usually only happen to those who have an allergic reaction. That is something your doctor should screen you for prior to the procedure.

There is good news. Most of these side effects and complications rarely occur. That means that you can be confident that having Botox is a safe option for getting rid of your wrinkles and frown lines. Take some time to talk to your doctor about the risks especially if you have other allergies.
