Metabolism is the rate at which the body produces and uses calories

. Millions of people have a slow metabolism. They would give anything to speed theirs up. They wish their body could burn fat and lose weight faster. They wish they could speed it up and they could. They have to get active, exercise, eat right, and follow a fat loss diet.

Many factors affect your metabolism, such as how much lean muscle you have, how often you eat meals, your personal diet, and how active you are. When you are inactive your metabolism slows down. If you are a couch potato, your metabolism slows down because you are inactive. You also lose lean muscle mass and your metabolism slows down even more. To speed up your metabolism means you have to change your lifestyle. Are you willing to do that?

These are some ways to "rev up" your metabolism:

1. Get active.


Metabolism decreases naturally as you age. You can counter for this decrease, if you exercise. If you have a lot of lean muscle mass, you can burn calories and shed fat faster. Exercise is essential. Lose weight. Walk when possible. You must match the amount of food you eat to the amount of exercise you do to burn calories. If not, you will end up gaining weight.

Get up off the couch and move!

2. Eat breakfast.

Many people do not eat breakfast even though doctors, medical experts and diet experts all proclaim the importance of eating breakfast. They say it is the main meal of the day! Medical research supports the fact that those who eat breakfast are thinner than the ones who do not eat. Remember you want to speed up your metabolism for fat loss, so eat breakfast!

Going without breakfast can greatly affect your metabolism rate.

3. Avoid sugar and sugary foods.

Sugar lets the body store fat.

4. Get more sleep.

Medical reports support the fact that people who do not get enough sleep, gain weight. Perhaps they have their hand in the cookie jar late at night when no one can see them!

5. Eat peppers and spicy foods.

Eating spicy foods and hot peppers, such as jalapenos can increase your metabolism.

6. Drink more water.

Water gets rids of toxins in the body. If you do not drink enough water, your body will store water because that is what it does. When we do not eat enough, the body stores food. It does the same thing with water. This slows down your metabolism.

7. Do not skip meals.

You make think skipping a meal once in a while will save on calories. All it does is slow down your metabolism and causes the body to store food. Eat smaller meals regularly to speed up your metabolism and create fat loss.

8. Drink Tea.


Tea, especially green tea, stimulates the metabolism. It is full of antioxidants and is good for you.

Metabolism has everything to do with fat loss. If you want to be thinner, follow these rules. Keep a positive attitude. Stay active.
