Are You A Relationship Ready Man?

You think that you are completely ready to be in a relationship with a woman because

of the fact that you feel as though you want to have a steady girlfriend and you don't want to deal with your absolute loneliness anymore. Because you feel that way, you assume that you must be ready for a relationship and you really don't give it much more thought than that. Even though you may feel like you are ready for a steady girlfriend - are you really? I know that it probably seems like a silly question to ask, at least on the surface it does. However, it is a question that I think many men should ask more often of themselves and they do not.

This could be the source of a lot of the problems that men seem to face when they do get into a relationship with a woman. Having the attitude that you are ready for a steady girlfriend may just make you less open minded to making certain changes that need to be made if you are going to have a chance at having a relationship that not only lasts, but also thrives.

What does it mean for you to be relationship ready?

Well, one of the things that I think a man must take into account is whether or not you are able to handle the fact that you are going to have to put a woman's feelings first some of the time. Notice that I said some of the time and not all of the time. Yes, there are guys who try and put their girlfriend's feelings first all of the time, but they usually end up being the ones that get walked all over and feel just as unhappy when they do have a girlfriend as they do when they do not have a girlfriend. So, I think that this is one thing that you need to be able to account for and think about before you take the plunge into a long term relationship.

Another thing that I think you really want to look at is whether or not you really know what your ideal woman would be like. I bet you have some idea of what she would look like physically, but let's go deeper than that. Let's take a look at what you want to experience while you are with a woman.

Do you want to be with someone that you can go out and do the things that you like to do? Would you rather be in a relationship with a woman who likes to do her own thing and then you come back to one another at the end of the day?

There are no right answers to those kinds of questions, there are only your answers. Your answers are the ones that mean the most, though. Because, if you are truly going to be in a place where you are totally ready for a relationship with a woman and you want to have a steady girlfriend - then you have to know what you want that to be like. You have to be able to provide your own context. When you can, that is when you are really going to be ready to experience the enjoyment that can come from being in a long term situation with a woman and that is when you are really going to be able to say that you ARE relationship ready without it even being a question.
