There are several points: images provided by progressive lenses may be of distortion. Some wearers would find it uncomfortable; one often feel hard to acclimatize himself/herself to progressive lenses; progressive lenses are sold at a significantly higher price than bifocal and single-vision reading spectacles; it is usually hard to find all lens-curve types in one opticians.
