Are your emails getting opened?
If you are marketing online at all you know the importance in email marketing
You build a huge list of subscribers who grow to like you, trust you, learn from you, and buy what you have to sell, all using an auto responder service.
You know what I mean right?
Well just like with any other type of online marketing there are plenty of conversion points in your email alone that can make or break your marketing.
In this post I am going to cover a couple but mainly I am going to talk about and give you a couple key ways to get your emails opened more often.
After all, if your emails aren't getting opened they aren't getting read. If they aren't getting read, people aren't clicking, and you aren't making any money.
As I said there are a couple different conversion points that make a difference in your emails that you write to your subscribers. The same thing can go for blog posts, articles, and even other ad copy.
But in email marketing, you should have at least 3 key components in the body of the email.
First is the hook. Usually an offset or continuation of the subject line of some kind.
Second is the proof, and unique selling proposition. (Basically why should I listen to this, and why is this different than the other emails that I am receiving?)
Third: The call to action. (What do you want your readers to do?)
I can literally write several posts and even a whole course just on email marketing. So I am going to save the rest of this story about the different aspects of email marketing for another post and move onto getting your posts opened.
Like I said if your emails aren't getting opened and standing out in the crowd of hundreds of others then you are really dropping the ball.
Now traditional copywriting always says that you should have a strong benefit in the headline, and pure curiosity headlines are almost never successful.
But in this case traditional copywriting methods are wrong wrong wrong wrong
You want to have that curiosity when it comes to emails, you want to set yourself apart and get your emails noticed and best of all opened!
So curiosity is key here.
Think about it this way What is going to be shocking? What is going to grab some attention?
Here are a couple examples that have worked in the past for me
My jaw hit the floor when?
All that and a bag of chips
They laughed when I?
This farm boy did what?!?
Blah blah blah
Where were you?
These are just a few that have worked in the past. As you can see they are pretty attention grabbing but not too over the top.
The next time you write an email, think about it! What is your shock value? Where is your curiosity?
By putting that little extra effort into your subject line and get just 5% more opens, that could increase your bottom line significantly.
So take those few little words seriously.
That is all for you today.
Take care and happy emailing.
