Arjun Tendulkar, the prodigal son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is all set to follow in his father's footsteps. No, he is not going to open for Indian team along with his father. The chap is too young for it! But not so young for an Under-13 Cadency Trophy held in Pune earlier this year. January 23, 2010, exactly 3 months and one day before Sachin's birthday, his son made his nationwide cricketing debut through this U-13 tournament.

Arjun represented the MIG club and just like father opened batting for his side although he played from non-striker's end. Junior Tendulkar although couldn't stay on crease for a longer period as he was run out due to miscommunication with his partner. But he did manage to showcase his finesse for batting just like his father. His team ultimately lost the cup but the nation gained hope in the form of Arjun Tendulkar, a little star in making.

Arjun Tendulkar has been training hard under the watchful eyes of experienced coaches Chandu Bhatkar and Jagdish Chavan. As a matter of fact, his training started 5 months prior to the start of the tournament.

Interestingly while Arjun was playing his first ever innings in Pune, Sachin was celebrating his 44th international test century against Bangladesh. Arjun's mother Anjali Tendulkar cheered his son from the stands.

It's been 6 months now since the Cadency Trophy took place but the people are still talking about Arjun Tendulkar and his future life which who knows might also follow the same path as his famous father Sachin Tendulkar.

There is still time for Arjun Tendulkar Arjun Tendulkar to join international cricket [6 years to be precise if one goes by his father's cricketing debut age]. In the meanwhile, all one can hope is for another legend who will carry forward the legacy and make Indian cricket shine on the global horizons!
