The town was settled in 1872 by The Rehoboth Beach Camp Meeting Association of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Today Rehoboth Beach, located on the Atlantic Coast only a couple of hours from Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia, is known as the Nation's Summer Capital thanks to the arrival of Washington movers and shakers each summer. Visit Dewey Beach just south of Rehoboth to enjoy boating and water sports on Rehoboth Bay. There are also many active clubs and civic agencies in town and easily accesible stores to meet your every day shopping needs. Rehoboth Beach is located in the Cape Henlopen School District.
