Article Marketing Strategy: How To Create An Online Marketing Campaign For Your E-book

If you have written an e-book that you'd like to sell online

, you may be wondering how to go about attracting readers to your book and how to make the sales. What article marketing strategies can you use, and can other online marketing tools work with article submissions to help send traffic to the website that's selling your book?

This article details a step-by-step multifaceted marketing campaign for an e-book:

1 - First, create a website for your e-book. It could be a blog or a traditional website. This will be a site where, among other things, people can sign up to your newsletter list and receive further information about your topic and the e-book.

This step is crucial--you need to be able to capture people's email addresses so that you can follow-up with them and sell your book. It's not enough just to attract people to your website one time--only a few people will buy your book the first time they visit your website. Most people will want to gather more information about you and your book, and automated follow-up emails are a very effective way to accomplish this.

Why would a person give you his or her email address? You have to think of something valuable that you can give your website visitors to entice them to surrender that personal information. Here are some ideas:

*Offer the first few chapters of your book. This helps a reader to see what you're offering and whet his appetite for the complete book.

*You can put together a free report based on the book.

*You can set up a free e-course (a series of lessons delivered automatically via email) based on the information in the book.

2 - Create a blog for your e-book where you can write posts that discuss topics associated with the book. This blog could be the main website for your e-book, where you gather email addresses.

The steady stream of fresh information on your blog is great for people who visit your blog (need to give them a reason to stay on your site!) and also for SEO.

The blog is also a great method for bringing attention to your e-book and getting some interaction going between you and your potential customers.

3 - Do article marketing, writing articles on your topic.

With an e-book in hand, you have a big advantage in that you can use content from your e-book to create the articles. You may need to adapt some of the content to fit the format of a free reprint article, but that's a lot easier than writing articles from scratch. You also have the posts on your blog to work off of--you don't need to re-write the content from your e-book when using it for free reprint articles, but you do need to re-write the content from your blog.

4- Write your author resource box and include a link to the website for your e-book.

Every free reprint article that you write will also have a resource box to go along with it. In your resource box, include a line like this:

"This article was based on my e-book [give e-book title], by [give your name]. For even more effective ways to [do whatever your e-book is teaching], go to [the URL of your book's website]."

Of course you'll want to flesh out the resource box to include more info about you and your website, but be sure to include the bit about your e-book and the link to your site.

If you have a book that you want to sell online, it's important to have a marketing plan to generate sales for the book. This one is multifaceted, but many of the parts play off of each other, such as content from the e-book being able to be re-purposed on your blog and in your free reprint articles. There's a few elements going on, but that's where the power comes from. This strategy can be very effective over the long-term.
