Article Marketing Tips - Getting Traffic To Your Article (only If You Really Want It)

, how do you get traffic to it? This is a very common question among people using article marketing to build their online business. This is a great question and I will attempt to answer it here.

There are many answers to the question of how do I get traffic to my articles. This article cannot contain all the answers, but it will reveal three ways to get traffic.

1 - Article directories. One of the first ideas to consider is that it is better to find where the traffic is and get in front of it instead of chasing the traffic. It is better to be the hunted instead of the hunter. When you submit your articles to article directories such as EzineArticles, GoArticles, Article Dashboard and many other outstanding directories, you put yourself in front of millions of visitors each month.

The great part is the viewers are searching for targeted information in specified categories. They are hunting the information and are focused on finding it. If your article fulfills their needs, then it will be read. Once the viewer reads your article, you will be able to invite them to your blog, website or free report. You should focus on making it your goal to write and submit as many articles as possible to the directories making yourself become perceived as an expert in your niche.

2 - Feed off others' traffic. This can be accomplished when articles are submitted to the directories. People needing content for their blog, newsletter or website turn to directories to get that content. If your article is picked up by one of these publishers, they will publish it to their website or blog including your Resource Box which links back to you. This gives you an opportunity to be put in front of their list. This traffic is traffic you would have not otherwise have had contact with.

3 - Social media billboards. Social media outlets such as YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, LinkedIn, Digg and StumbledUpon are great sources of traffic. It is not complicated to get traffic from social media sites.

Think of social media as billboards on the highway. Just as billboards direct traffic of oncoming cars, social media sites do the same with online traffic. When you submit an article to the article directories, make sure you make a post to the social media sites with your article title, quotes from the article, what the article is about and a link to the article. Most article directories will automatically do this for you just by clicking a box.
