Article Marketing & Online Visibility - Which of These 3 Deadly Mistakes Are You Making
?
Article Marketing is a great way to establish and build your online visibility. There are, however, some common mistakes that many marketers make as they build their online visibility.
Let's take a closer look at 3 of the most common mistakes and what to do instead.
3 Deadly Online Visibility Mistakes
Online Visibility Mistake #1 - "If you build it he will come" - This was a great line in a movie, but it is a deadly mistake to think it works this way in real world of marketing. This mistake is most often seen when someone puts up a web site or blog and then just expects the traffic to pour in. It just does not work that way.
What to do instead - Let people know you are out there on the internet. Write lots of articles and get them on the Article Directories. Use them on your blog and invite your list to read the new article. Use Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to promote your existing articles and to repurpose your articles into different media.
Online Visibility Mistake #2 - Just a few will do - I hear this one all the time "I tried Article Marketing and it just doesn't work." Then I ask (although I already know the answer) "How many articles did you create and promote?" The answer is usually 3 - 5. That just won't cut it.
What to do instead - Think of your articles as "article agents" out there working for you 24/7/365 all over the world, never asking for a raise, taking a day off, or being cranky. Now how many articles do you want out there working for you? Remember this, especially as you are beginning, or wanting to ramp things up:
An article a day keeps recession away
And, I might add, makes for great online visibility!
Online Visibility Mistake #3 - Not spreading the word - Do not leave your marketing to someone else. You are responsible for your marketing. As my friend and colleague Alex Mandossian is fond of saying "you must take 100% marketing responsibility for your message."
When you write a book, it is the responsibility of the publisher to publish it. The little known hard truth is that it is then your responsibility to market it.
What to do instead -It's the same the way with your articles. Once they are published by the Article Directories, it is then your responsibility to market your articles. Here's a short list about ways to get the word out:
Email your list community
Announce on Twitter
Announce on Facebook
Create a Video Article
Hold a teleseminar based on your article
If you implement just one of these 3 tips, you will get more online visibility. I wonder what would happen if you implemented all three of these online visibility tips...
