When any new organ is transplanted into the body the white blood cell tries to get rid of it and regards it as an invader so this medication prevents the white blood cell of the body from rejecting the newly transplanted organ and thus helps the body for accepting it. This medication is also used in the treatment of severe condition of psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis. This medication should not for treating human. This medication is a dog medication.

How should I give this medication to my pet?

Atopica generic should be applied according to the prescription suggested by the doctor. This medication is available in 10mg, 25mg, 50mg and 100mg capsule. This medication should not be administrated in to the dog which is younger than 6 months. The dosage of Atopica medication depends upon the weight of the dog. Atopica 10mg and 20mg should be given to the dogs, which weigh between 4lbs and 9lbs. this medication should be used after every other day. This medication say be applied 1hour before giving food or 2 hours later.

What are the possible side effects of using this drug?

Atopica dog medication may cause vomiting, diarrhea problem, pruritus problem, lethargy disorder, anorexia and seizures problem. Vomiting and diarrhea were the most common adverse reactions occurring during the study. In most cases, signs spontaneously resolved with continued dosing. In other cases, temporary dose modifications (brief interruption in dosing, divided dosing, or administration with a small amount of food) were employed to resolve signs. Persistent otitis externa, urinary tract infections, anorexia, gingival hyperplasia, lymphadenopathy and lethargy were the next most frequent adverse events observed. Gingival hyperplasia regressed with dose tapering. Owners of four dogs reported seizures while dogs were receiving Atopica. In one dog, seizures were the result of a brain tumor diagnosed one month into the study.


What precautions should be followed while using Atopica?

Dogs with kidney disease, stomach ulcers and blood disorders should not use Atopica because it can worsen these conditions. Always consult your veterinarian about how to administer Atopica to your dog based on its specific treatment needs to avoid overdose or further complications. Prolonged use of Atopica may result in a bacterial or fungal infection as it suppresses your dog's immune system and makes your pet more susceptible to infections.
