Autumn's Fashion Revamp

It is official

It is official. Summer has ended and autumn is here. Before you get upset, think about all of the great ways you can accessorise for the new season. The end of one season and start of another offers us the opportunity to go through our wardrobes, get rid of the old, amend the loved and bring in some new.

Autumn means a return to dark colours, blacks, leathers, tweeds and boots. Some suggestions of what you can do with some of your favourite items are:

1. Shorten your hounds tooth dress:

Make your work dresses more fashionable by shortening them above the knee. You can still pair them with heels for a meeting, or throw on a pair of biker boots and a jumper. There is no reason why you shouldn't be able to maximise your well-tailored work clothes by giving them a more casual look when you choose.

2. Pair your old baggy jeans with heels:

Do you have a couple of pairs of old, baggy jeans that you can't bring yourself to throw out? You'll want to avoid pairing them with trainers, because that will make you look frumpy. Instead roll them up a tad and put on a pair of heels. Even if you keep your top half simple you'll still look chic.

3. Wear your summer maxi dresses with a sweater:

Maxi dresses are comfortable and elegant. Just because summer is over it doesn't mean that you have to put them in storage. Those that will work throughout the autumn should be kept out and paired with flat boots, and a long cardigan, jacket or jumper.

4. Mix in some of your summer colours:

While autumn is a season of darker hues, there's no reason why you can't mix in a hot yellow pair of shorts, or a cream, lace dress every now and then. Throw your romantic, cream dress over a pair of black tights, with brogues and a leather jacket, and pull a hot coloured pair of shorts over black tights with a pullover.

Items you'll want to ensure are in your closet this season are: a trench coat, a leather bomber, biker boots, brogues and some patterns.

Men, you should build up your collection of cosy scarves, invest in a couple of new, leather man bags, a couple of big coats, and some great new accessories to make your work and play attire stand out amongst the crowd.
