A wide range of property is available for sale on the four largest of these Spanish islands; Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera; with prices to fit many budgets and climates which, according to Holiday-Weather.com, are suited to anyone seeking a little slice of paradise.
Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands. It is a land of pristine beaches ranging up to the towering mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana. Although it can be chilly in the mountains, the coasts and rolling hills are mild. July and August are the warmest months, with gentle temperatures averaging 30C. Although January can dip to chilly temperatures averaging 14C during the day, the warm days are frequent, and temperatures rarely dip below freezing, even at night. Some winter days are even warm enough for sunbathing. What's more, the warm days of summer are also the driest, with June, July, and August showing the lowest precipitation numbers of the year. In July, only 10mm of rain falls on average, leaving plenty of sunshine and warmth for sunbathing, swimming, and strolling country hills.
For holiday home seekers, properties for sale on Mallorca cater to a wide variety of needs, but the average prices are slightly higher than those on the Balearic Islands as a whole. Situated to the north of Mallorca, Menorca is slightly smaller and less densely populated than its southern neighbour. Its quaint coastal villages and whitewashed villas invite the visitor to stay, and balmy breezes warm the beaches throughout the spring and summer and well into fall. From May to October, average temperatures are above 21C, with temperatures in August, the warmest month, topping 28C. The winter temperatures average 12C in February, generally the coldest month, and frequent warm days make the beach a year round destination. And while October through April can be wet, with average rainfall for October of 84mm and overall rainfall for these months averaging above 50mm, the summer makes up for it, with rainfall in July averaging only 4mm.
What's more, property for sale on Menorca is significantly less expensive than that of the Balearic Islands as a whole, making it ideal for those shopping for a home on a tighter budget. A two bedroom home on Menorca currently costs an average of 226K, and three bedroom homes average 300K. No data was available for larger homes on the island, but indications are that homes on the island will continue to be an excellent value.
To the South of the largest of the Balearic Islands lies Ibiza. Smaller than the northern islands, Ibiza is perhaps most famous as an island of strobe-lit discos and pulse-pounding nightlife. Beyond this coastal enclave of tourism, however, are rolling hills, rustic country homes, and secluded beaches. The mild climate means that temperatures in July and August average a balmy 29C, and winter days generally warm up to at least 15 C. Summer's are dry, with a negligible 3mm falling on average during July, and fall and winter, while wet, generally average rainfalls between 30 and 55mm. Only October, typically the Balearic Islands' wettest month, exceeds 55mm, with a 77mm average that sustains orange groves and olive trees.
Property for sale in Ibiza tends to be among the most expensive in the Balearic Islands, with prices averaging 1,365K for a four bedroom house, but those for whom price is not an object will find sunny days and breezy nights here.
