Bharatpur is the well known city in the state of Rajasthan it was established in the year 1773 by Maharaja Suraj Mal. Bharatpur has been the capital of Jat Maharajas and was situated in Mewat region. This beautiful city has been a city of forts. The trio of Dholpur, Dheeg and Bharatpur has played an important role in the history of Rajasthan. These three small towns have been very important in the state of Rajasthan. Bharatpur is situated at a distance of 50 km from the west of Agra; the distance between the two cities is quiet less this is why many tourists visit this beautiful city. The Royal House of Bharatpur which is worth admiring traces its history to the 11th Century AD. Lohagarh is another name given to the town of Bharatpur.
According to the legend this town was named after Bharata, he was the second son of Kaushalya and Dashrath. Bharat was the younger brother of Lord Rama. It is a belief that this city was founded in seventeenth century by Lord Aditya Consul. There are numerous places all around Bharatpur which can be visited and this small town attracts many tourists all the year round. The Keoladeo National Park which has been declared as the heritage site by UNESCO attracts many viewers. This park is inhabited by many aquatic birds from china, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan and Siberia. Keoladeo gets its name from an old Hindu temple which was devoted to Lord Shiva.
The large number of tourists pour in Bharatpur can have a comfortable and memorable time in this beautiful place. There are many good outlets where one can go and enjoy the food. There are many restaurants which offer hygienic and mouth-watering food. The travellers here cannot get the tempting continental cuisines, therefore they prefer to have Indian food which is easily available everywhere.

Deeg Palace: Deeg Palace is a beautiful and massive fortress and it has been the summer resort of some of the rulers of Bharatpur there are many striking palaces and gardens here.
