These days most of the work is done on a computer. Even students are learning their lessons on a computer instead of paper and pen. Hence its use has increases many folds. Dependence on it is so much that if it hangs up or will not open up you will be in deep trouble. When you start it up the message BOOTMGRis missing will seem the most menacing and you would feel so angry that you would want to break your system. But it is not the solution to a problem whether it is big or small.

This error on booting can be solved with some easy steps. The easy solution to most problems faced while booting is to press the keys Ctrl+Alt+Del to start it up. Many a time the command will be obeyed and your computer will start and you can proceed with the work of the day. But computers have an uncanny way of giving trouble when you need them the most and you need to submit your project or work urgently.

When the command Ctrl+Alt+Del will not work you may turn to the net to find some solution of course using another computer. The net may advise you to use the Vista installation DVD to continue booting your system but it will not work even after several attempts. You become so desperate that you would be ready to anything to get it started.

In Vista OS the boot.ini does not exist hence fixmbr command may not work. You can use the inbuilt recovery system of the command prompt and type the code like bootrec. exe /fixboot, and press enter to get the computer booted. Most of the times you may be lucky enough to get your command obeyed if not you have one more option to boot your system.

You can fix the problem using EasyBCD. It is really helpful in booting your computing system. The BCD can be repaired. Instead of moving it to the 100 MB system reserved partition it can be moved to the main partition. This will never fail you and your system will be booted and the menacing message of BOOTMGR is missing will not annoy you anymore.
