It will make your child realize that biking isn't that difficult after-all. All he or she needs to do is to start practicing from something very user friendly. Being afraid to try a sporting activity, just like biking, may have greater implications to someone"s life. This is why, as early as possible, guidance should be given to children who needs assistance for their own development.
One of the fears children have is falling off their bike. The low seat of balance bikes enables their feet to touch the ground and thus provide support for themselves. All they need to do then is just push themselves forward in a stride. Through this, they are able to control their speed. When they think they couldn't handle moving forward with their stride bike, they can just sit there are practice balance by merely standing, getting their feet off the ground every once in while. It is a good start when trying to learn balancing/biking. They can stop or move forward whenever they want, without thinking of getting off balanced.
But even when these are just practice bikes, you still have to make sure your kids are protected from cuts and bruises. Have a helmet on them. You may think that knee pads and elbow protection are a little too much. But just for your own peace of mind of your kids' safety, still make your children use these protective gear. Anyway, they can still use these in the future. So you can then invest on the durable ones.
