The lady offered the King the boiled beans, and thus the place came to be known as 'Bendha kaalu ooru' (the land of boiled beans). Bendha kaalu ooru later came to be known as Bengaluru.

Bangalore was found by Kempe Gowda. Bangalore was also ruled by a number of rulers and dynasties, including the rulers of the Vijayanagara Empire and Tipu Sultan.

Bangalore City Railway station and Yesvantpur Junction are the main railway stations in Bangalore. The mass rapid transit system in Bangalore is called the Namma Metro and has currently started operation.

Bangalore, being a cosmopolitan city, has all the modern amenities and facilities at a world class level.
