What is better that a beautiful day at on the lake with the wind blowing through your hair

, warm water below and blue skies overhead?Everyone is ready in anticipation as the words, "hit it" are heard and the boat engine immediately begins to roar and speed is quickly gained.The exhilaration of a giant "waaaahooo" is heard as once again someone begins an adventure of barefoot skiing behind a speed boat.Life is good.There is nothing quite like the thrill of skiing barefooted.Nothing between you and the water, a soft massage for your feet and a massive adrenaline rush.

We love to go to beautiful Lake Powell, Utah or Arizona in the summer.It is our favorite family vacation.No phones, no interruptions, no texting, just the family and usually a friend or two day after day basking in the glorious sun skiing, exploring, swimming and relaxing all day long, day after glorious day.It doesn't get better than that!The family, the food, the sun, the warm water, the tubing, skiing and relaxing.Did I mention food?Ah, that definitely adds to the pleasure of the trip.What is a skiing trip without gaining a little weight.

Lake Powell is absolutely beautiful.The stunning, red cliff walls jut vertical along steep canyon walls making narrow fingers.There are places so narrow that they can only be accessed by swimming.We love these afternoon adventures, two hundred feet of warm water below and 100 feet of red rock straight above your head.You can swim down these narrow water canyons slots for hours and never come to the end.

Ski and wakeboard during the early morning hours, reading and relaxing and swimming during the afternoon and crazy barefooting skiing in the afternoon makes for an amazing vacation.If you are novice barefoot skier there are shoes and ropes and other apparatus to make the transition easier, there are also dedicated sites online to help with this process, a group of people just like you who have tried and succeeded and will never view water skiing the same again.Enjoy those wonderful summer days at the lake!
