Bathinda stadium all set to for facelift for Kabaddi world cup semifinal

BATHINDA: Efforts are underway to prepare the stadium at Bathinda for the semifinal of the kabbadi world cup on December 12. Following the opening ceremony of the world cup in Bathinda which left the stadium in need of repair, the multi-purpose stadium in the city is now all set to get a new look.

Wiz Craft company that conducted the event on December 1 gathered everything that it had put up to make the night entertaining and glamorous with Akshay Kumar and Asin performing, but it has left the multi-purpose stadium deserted and in a need of repair.

The whole ground had to be dug up due to underground wiring that had to be done for the event. This has created pits in the ground. The stadium is full of sludge due to water fountains that had to installed for getting the laser beams work. Remains of air beam and boxes and glasses of refreshments and beverages can be seen lying strewn on the ground. Attempts are on to clean up the stadium now.

It should be noted that during the last kabbadi world cup, there were nails put inside the ground and they remained even after the event was over. The administration had to put in a lot of effort to clear the ground of the nails that remained there for making it safe and ready for the players.

According to sports officer Karm Singh Sandhu, very soon the stadium will have a new look.

The municipal corporation has been informed for cleaning up the stadium by lifting the garbage and other things scattered on the ground. A campaign is being run for making the ground even and cleaning up the premises. A huge magnet will also be used for extracting nails and other form of iron lying on the ground. Ground marking will be done all over again and the ground will be made squashy with water sprinkles. This will be done to ensure that kabbadi players have no problems while playing.
