There are still people who engage in the not-so-traditional way of having a date. People usually talk about things that they are interested in doing and eating. The bottom line here is that they have the chance to talk with each other and know each other better.

Whether you are a female or a male, you should know the basics of dating. Whether you chose to do the formal or informal method of dating, you should also discuss the do's and dont's to avoid being rejected by the other person. When you are on a date if there is a silent moment you should not talk about your ex. This can bring the impression that you are still not over with your ex. You should focus on the present and the future. You should plan what you are going to speak about when you go on a date. You should think of the interesting topics that both of you could talk about. Just let the conversation flow and you will be smiling after.

Listen to the one you're dating when he or she is talking. You should stay focused on the subject that is being discussed. If the topic is not interesting for you, just keep listening. This shows your date that you are interested in what they are talking about.

Be punctual, this is really a must when you're going on a date. Don't make your partner wait. You agreed to go out with that person so be prepared before the event. Do not overdo things, try to be yourself. If you have said something wrong you should not try too hard to fix things, doing so can make a bad situation worse. So you should try to change the subject if you have said something wrong. It's best to choose your words carefully before saying them. This could really save you quite a bit of time and grief.

Just enjoy the moment that you have. If everything goes well it increases your chance of going on another date with this person. You should not tell lies about yourself to impress your date because this will complicate things for you. If you and the other person realize that you are not for each other, you can go your separate ways. Retracting what you have said is harder than just telling the truth, so it's very important to be honest and up front.
