Beach Boys Tickets - The American Surf Rock Band Reunites For 50th Anniversary Tour

For the first time in over two decades, The Beach Boys are finally reuniting for

their 50th Anniversary Tour that will take them all throughout the U.S. The Beach Boys have produced some of the country's most memorable tracks including "Surfin' USA" and "California Girls" among many others. Since their formation in 1961, The Beach Boys have been American legends, performing beach rock that is easy to listen to and fun to dance to. Their style has not changed much over the years and the members of the band still play their hit music just as well as they did in the1960s. It is amazing to know that several decades and 29 albums later, The Beach Boys still have it, selling out The Beach Boys tickets to just about every concert venue they have been slated to perform at.

The Beach Boys Formation

Formed in Hawthorne, California in 1961, The Beach Boys had a complex way of starting out. Some of the members of the band were related, while others were close friends. At first, the group consisted of Al Jardine, Mike Love, Carl, Dennis, and Brian Wilson. All of the members of the band contributed something to the music they were developing that later became their signature sound. Oddly enough, although many of the songs The Beach Boys sing are about surfing, only one member actually surfed, Dennis Wilson. It was actually his suggestion that they write and sing songs about surfing and the surf culture that was beginning to spread in Southern California.

The same year of their formation, the band got the opportunity to audition for Dorinda and Hite Morgan in Hollywood at Stereo Masters studio. The song they chose, "Their Hearts were Full of Spring", was a slower ballad and did not catch the Morgan's attention. So they worked on their music and came up with "Surfin'," which they used to audition again and finally got signed to Candix Records. After that point, The Beach Boys began wearing a signature uniform while on tour that lasted until 1966 that consisted of gray/blue-striped shirts tucked into white pants. When "Surfin'" was released to the public, it was an instant success. Their first live gig as a signed group came at the Ritchie Valens Memorial Dance - where Ike and Tina Turner were headlining - in Long Beach, CA.

By 1963, the band had been signed to Columbia Records and had recorded a number of hits including "Surfin' Safari" and "Surfer Girl."

Fame from the 1960s to Now

Surfing music, which The Beach Boys had essentially created, had become huge in the 1960s. Their popularity rivaled even those of fellow rockers The Beatles during that decade. Though their album recording slowed down in the 1970s and even more so in the 1980s, The Beach Boys had already created a culture, had a loyal following, and had songs that could be heard everywhere, including in movies and television shows. That's Why God Made the Radio, their 29th album and their first original recording since 1996, demonstrates why they are still a huge attraction on the stage and still have thousands of fans.
