Bedding Is One Key To A Great Night's Sleep
Although you spend every night in the same bedroom
, you may not ever really think about it as the sacred place that it is. Sleep in of the utmost importance to your health. Without it, you would not exist. Without enough of it, you are hindered in your productivity and your mood becomes lower. It makes perfect sense because it takes energy to feel your best and do your best. To be your best, think about making your bedroom the best it can be also.
All of your energy comes from sleeping and eating well. To get more energy doesn't necessarily mean you need to sleep more. Plenty of people sleep the recommended 7 to 8 hours a night. However, they are still groggy and unproductive during the day. This could be because they are in bed those 7 to 8 hours, but not sleeping as well as they should.
One key to a good night's sleep is the bed you sleep in. To sleep better, you may need to finally get rid of that old squeaky mattress and box spring that grandma passed down to you and get something really special. Natural mattresses are a great alternative to the mattresses of old. Natural mattresses are the types that are made with organic materials. The reason why natural mattresses have come about is that there is a need to use sustainable materials in this day and age. There is also a need to get chemicals away from our bodies and traditional mattresses actually contain chemicals that will off-gas in the night as you sleep.
The latex mattress is one type of organic mattress that is an ideal choice for many people. Although there are also organic cotton and wool mattresses, the latex mattress seems to beat them out in popularity. There is one main reason why the latex mattress may be great for most households: dust mites. It is a well known fact that dust mites love to live in mattresses and pillows since this is where they can find the most dead skin cells. With a latex mattress, you eliminate their ability to thrive in the mattress itself. This means no more bed bugs for you; but also it means a long lasting mattress that will keep you comfortable night after night.
To sleep well at night, you need to be able to "turn off". This is why the bedroom is not the place where you should work. Life is busy, but you still need time to unwind and think about something other than work or stress. You need to sometimes be able to not think at all, actually. Making the bedroom the place you can go to do this is not difficult and takes very little effort.
Painting the room a nice, calm color is a way to help your body know it is time to rest. When you walk through the doors of your bedroom, your body will get to know how to relax automatically if you have set the room up right. With soft colors of your choosing, you can trigger your brain to unwind and relax, and lead the path right to a great night's sleep.
Sounds in the bedroom can be relaxing, or can keep you up all night. Spend some time figuring out what type of person you are. Do you like absolute quiet? Then pick up some over the counter ear plugs and see how well you sleep with all noise blocked out. Need a little noise to help you sleep? Bring in a fan or sound machine that you can play quietly all night long.
Your room is your own; to create however you need. Create a cozy atmosphere here and you will rest better and be the best you can be.
