Being Proactive With Your To-do List

Get the Worst Done First: Perhaps the biggest challenge you will face when composing a to-do list is actually being able to take action.

It is really easy to get distracted when you aren't focused on taking regular action and that means that the majority of your to-do list might be left untouched at the end of your day. If you want to work through this problem you need to keep your motivation levels high if you want to succeed. Finishing the hard stuff before moving on to the easy stuff is a great way to build up this motivation. It's true: put that stuff at the top of your list and start working on them immediately at the beginning of your day. Since you are going to be more energetic and motivated and productive at the beginning of your day, you'll be able to get done with this task a lot more easily. And knowing that you've taken care of the worst already, you'll automatically take off the burden off your chest - giving you the motivation to move through the rest of the tasks on your list. Add Tasks to Your List, Not Goals: One reason that so many Internet Marketers don't finish their lists is because the lists start to feel overwhelming. Usually this happens because the tasks on your list are big enough to be considered goals. Your to-do list needs to contain a list of doable tasks that will help you achieve your main goal. These tasks should be small enough for you to achieve them in a short amount of time, so that you know for sure that you're moving ahead towards your objective. Also, the tasks you put on your list should be specific and not vague. For example, "Get More Leads" is vague and overwhelming but "Call 5 Prospects" is clearly defined and something that can easily be done.

If You Miss It, Do It Tomorrow: This is one rule that is easily taken advantage of by procrastinators so if you have a bad habit of procrastinating, be careful when you are putting things off. Of course, if you look at it through a realistic lens, you'll see that missing tasks here and there will happen to everybody and that's okay. Since you can't predict with any real accuracy how your day will go or if there will be any major hurdles. So if you miss something by accident then just put it on your list for tomorrow; don't just let it go completely. If there is anything that deserves your time and attention as an Internet Marketer it is being able to get as much done as you can as quickly as you can and a good to-do list is the best first step for that.
