Best Ab Workouts for Losing Belly Fat
As a physique specialist and an exercise science graduate
, I get questions all the time from clients, friends and family how they can lose weight, lose their stomach, and get a flat stomach. They always ask if sit-ups will do the trick. Truth is, they won't. They never worked and they never will work. Reason being is because you can't spot reduce any area in your body unless you manipulate certain hormones and that is out of the scope of this article.
You can do 1000 sit ups a day and all you'll have to show for it an aching back and no six pack. You see, everyone has a six pack, but most of the time it is under a lay of fat. You have to get rid of the fat first.
In order to get rid of the fat that is covering up your six pack, you first need to get your diet in order.
First thing I tell to all my clients is to clean out your pantry and throw out all of the junk food that you see.
This includes, cookies, candy, ice cream, cake, pretzels, and chips. The reason being is if these items are not in the house, then you will not eat junk food, plain and simple.
Second thing is to start eating more healthy carbohydrates such as oatmeal, fruit, veggies, and to eat more lean protein sources such as fish chicken, eggs, and cottage cheese.
From there, I put them on an exercise program consisting of weights 3 times a week and cardio 2 to 3 times a week. I only start them on 2 days of cardio because I can push them hard enough with the weights to get a cardio benefit.
If you do all of these steps in a row, you can easily start losing weight and begin to get a flat tummy in no time.
