. Beach. This year the Siesta Key public beach was upped to the No. 2 spot on Dr. Beach's 10 Best Beaches in America list. This barrier island is a very popular place to live in Sarasota, not just because of the beaches, but because of the outstanding water views, the private luxury living, the numerous outdoor activities and unbelievably beautiful, luxury homes and condos on this barrier island off of the Sarasota, FL coastline.

Hanalei Bay has been a previous contestant in Dr Beach's awards but somehow, with such stiff competition, it didn't win; however, 2009 was the year when it finally received recognition as probably the best beach in the world, gaining the considerable honor of being named the ultimate beach in the USA beating off Siesta Beach in Florida and Cooper Beach in New York, amongst others.

Caladesi Island State Park Beach was voted the best beach in the USA in 2008 (it came 2nd in 06 and 07). This beach is located close to the city of Dunedin in Florida, some 36kms west of Tampa. In addition to its fantastic stretches of white sand there are a number of other activities you can avail of. These include a nature trail, a marina, the picnic pavilions and the bathhouses. You can also go fishing, shelling, kayaking, boating and hiking.

Panama City Beach continues to receive praise for its pristine beaches by recently being named a "Best Beach" by Conde Nast Traveler. The award winning travel magazine included Panama City Beach in its list of the 20 Best Beaches in America. Conde Nast Traveler states that Panama City Beach is one of eleven epic beaches on America's East Coast that "marries the outstanding physical assets of location with distinctive local character.

The Crandon Park Beach. The Crandon Park Beach is the best beach in Miami to go to if you are traveling or taking a trip to Miami with your family. This beach has been ranked as one of the top ten beaches in the USA. From the beach, a stroll with your family will take you to the amusement center, a roller rink, playground, and carousel. You won't have to worry about going hungry because pizza, hot dogs, chips, Cuban sandwiches, sodas, and a lot more food.

Ocracoke Islands, Outer Banks, North Carolina is another favorite beach for vacationers. Ocracoke Islands being surrounded by water on all sides is reachable only by air or water and is a part of Hyde County. Its banks spread to around 16 miles offering all possibilities for surfing, fishing and swimming. Many birds that migrate from water and land on the eastern flyway present exotic view for bird lovers.
