When you've been around internet marketing as long as I have

, you realize that you still have loads to learn.

I have created several digital products in the last few years, and sell them directly and via affiliates. Earlier this year I launched my latest product and looked forward to similar success that I had enjoyed with other ebooks I'd written.

However, not everything went to plan on this occasion. I was getting good traffic to my sales page, which I thought was the best I had ever written. But that best sales wasn't converting. The traffic was coming, but it wasn't buying in anything like the ratios that I was used to.

Like most internet marketers, I immediately assumed that my sales page was lacking in some way. I analysed it from every angle I could think of. While I did spot a couple of minor points, I came to the conclusion that there was nothing fundamentally wrong with my sales page.

Then, I came across the research work of a lady called Valerieann Giovanni. This taught me the importance of the subconscious in web page design. Subconscious, I hear you ask? Are you going into black magic or mumbo jumbo?

Not quite. However, whenever a web page is displayed to us, our subconscious makes an instant decision whether to like it. If the subconscious doesn't like a page, then there is little chance of the visitor taking the action the page owner wants. And that is what was happening to my sales page.

I made some changes based on the new principles I had learned, and my sales began to flow. In fact the conversion rates on this ebook became better than any of my other products.
